Reid is the founder and principal of Fine Tune Strategic & Marketing Consulting, a management consulting firm based in Santa Rosa, California. As the name suggests, Fine Tune is primarily oriented toward helping companies realize their greatest potential, by planning, organizing and executing for optimal results. Fine Tune’s main focus is on strategy development, planning, competitive assessments, positioning/branding and communication.
Reid has over 30 years of strategic marketing and consulting experience. He began his career at “academy” Fortune 100 consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies and has gone on to work in a wide variety of industries, primarily in food/beverage, health & beauty aids and in the global wine industry. His experience spans B2C (business to consumer) and B2B (business to business), domestic and international, large, mid-sized and smaller companies, including start-ups. He has led teams in achieving profitable growth, introduced highly successful new products and substantially improved long-term brand equity.
Prior to launching Fine Tune, Reid was VP of Marketing for Accolade Wines North America, where he successfully reinvigorated several brands, including Geyser Peak, building robust revenue growth and significantly improving profitability. Before that he was a partner at Trion LLC, a management consulting firm based in Dallas, Texas.
Before Trion, Reid was SVP, Marketing for Bimbo Bakeries USA, a $5 billion division of Grupo Bimbo, based in Mexico City, with brands such as Oroweat, Mrs Baird’s, Bimbo and Marinela. While at Bimbo, the company turned from a loss to a profit while simultaneously growing revenues at and 8% CAGR over four years, in flat to declining categories. Before that, he was the VP Marketing & General Manager of the Premium Division of Treasury Wine Estates, where he led the Beringer brand to the #1 market share position globally. Earlier, Reid held marketing management positions at Quaker, Minute Maid and Warner-Lambert.
Reid earned an MBA degree in Marketing from Columbia University in New York City. He lives in the heart of Northern California’s wine country – Santa Rosa, in Sonoma County.
